Who looks
Marian van der Elst
Marian van der Elst is a marketing and sales strategist and the founder of Ludusnovus. He works with owners who have been in business for years, and he finds the step in their sales process where money is leaving.
How he got here
He studied economics in Göttingen. After that he spent ten years as an executive at a Swiss corporation, running trading, sales and strategy. A single question in one meeting stopped a 500 million misinvestment before the money moved.
Then he built four companies of his own. For the past six years he has worked in direct response, the school where every claim gets measured against a number and nothing counts until it sells. A launch he wrote for a physician brought in 120,000 euros in ten days.
I came up in direct response, and for years I had one answer to every weak business: build something new. Until a client hired me to run his marketing, whose ads were beating the industry average. He was losing his money two steps further down, where nobody was looking. The new funnel would have fed the same leak at a higher price.
How he works
His work starts where most people want to start building. He measures every step of the path you already run, from the first inquiry to the repeat purchase. Then he looks for the one step where more money leaves than has to.
Every business problem is a marketing problem. And before you need something new, you almost always need to turn one screw, release one brake, put something you already own back to work, or finally do the one thing nobody has ever done at that step.
It rarely takes a new analysis. It takes one person willing to ask the question everyone else skipped.
What he works on
Direct response marketing. Sales process analysis from key figures. Revenue growth without additional ad spend. Reactivating existing customers. Offer and price design. Positioning.
He works in German and in English. He is a US resident, and his clients sit in the German-speaking countries and in the United States. The work runs over video and phone.
What he offers
The Business X-Ray finds the step where an existing business is losing money, fixes it and locks it in, in sixty days.
The Rope is the second door. Five days in the Alps, eight owners, and by the last night the new offer is live. It is meant for the case where the problem isn’t one step but the offer itself.
Frequenz-Prinzip is a Ludusnovus brand and builds positioning, websites and visibility.
Personal
He fell forty feet in 2015. Since then he doesn’t wait to say the uncomfortable thing.
